Attending UNODC Training for Soft Maritime Domain Awareness

On February 11, 2026, Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. ONO Shunsuke, delivered an opening remark at the ‘Soft Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) Training’ held by the UNODC under the ‘Project for Capacity Strengthening for Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies of the Pacific Island Countries to Efficiently Counter Maritime Crime’, funded by the Government of Japan.

This workshop was conducted for the Marine Law officers with the aim of achieving effective law enforcement and timely reporting when encountering maritime crimes including maritime resource exploitation, illegal vessel activities, and narcotic crimes. The training marks the second training in Palau under this project since September 2024.
