Japan Fisheries Agency, Okinawa Prefecture and Japanese Fisheries Stakeholders Visit

From September 29 to October 2, 2025, a delegation comprising the Japan Fisheries Agency, the Okinawa Prefectural Government, the National Offshore Tuna Fisheries Association of Japan, Okinawa Tuna Fisheries Association, Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation of Japan, and Sasakawa Peace Foundation visited Palau. During this second visit, following the visit in August, the delegation met with Paramount Chief Reklai Ngirmang, members of the Senate including the Senate President Hon. Baules, and H.E. Whipps, President of Palau amongst others. The discussions centered on the continuation of Okinawan fishing operations in Palau, and on strengthening future cooperative relations in fisheries between the two countries.
