Outline of Application Procedures for Multiple Visa
for Pacific Islanders

The following is an outline of application procedures for Pacific Islanders (nationals of the Federal States of Micronesia, the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, the Independent State of Samoa, the Kingdom of Tonga, the Republic of Fiji, the Republic of Kiribati, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Nauru, the Republic of Palau, the Republic of Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu) who wish to apply for a multiple entry visa as a temporary visitor (period of stay: max. 30 days, visa validity: max. 3 years). The visa is for the purpose of tourism, business affairs, and visits to relatives/acquaintances, so it is not permitted to perform activities to undertake revenue generating business operations or activities to receive remuneration.1. Eligibility for Applicant
Pacific Islanders above with ordinary MRP (Machine Readable Passport)/ e-passport in compliance with the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standard, who wish to apply for a multiple entry visa and are applicable to one of the following categories:
- Individual who has travel records as temporary visitor to Japan once or more in the last three years (*) and who has ability to pay the travel expense.
- Individual with sufficient financial capacity
- Spouse or children of the individuals who are mentioned (2) above
(1) Applicant with travel records to Japan once or more in the last three years (as mentioned 1(1) above)
a. Application form (with photo)
b. Passport (MRP/ e-passport in compliance with the ICAO standard only)
c. Current or old passport that shows Japanese temporary visitor visa and one or more entry stamps in the last three years
d. Applicant’s or his/her supporter’s income certificate, bank statement, or income tax return either one
e. A letter of explanation stating the reason of applying for the multiple visa
(2) Individual with sufficient financial capacity(as mentioned 1(2) above)
a. Application form (with photo)
b. Passport (MRP/ e-passport in compliance with the ICAO standard only)
c. Documents to prove the sufficient financial capacity such as income certificate, bank statement, or
income tax return (and some additional documents which certify incomes such as stock dividend, pension, retirement allowance, inheritance, lease agreement, real estate register, deed of property etc.)
d. A letter of explanation stating the reason of applying for the multiple visa
(3) Spouse or children of the individuals who are mentioned 1(2) above (as mentioned 1(3) above)
a. Application form (with Photo)
b. Passport (MRP/ e-passport in compliance with the ICAO standard only)
c. Documents to prove kinship
d. (if applying separately from the applicant 1(2) above) documents of c. as mentioned 2(2) above
*if spouse or parent already has the multiple entry visa as applicant with sufficient financial capacity (as mentioned 1(2) above), please submit a copy of his/her passport (pages of identification and the visa).
e. A letter of explanation stating the reason of applying for the multiple visa
If necessary, we might ask for additional documents apart from the documents mentioned above.

Please note that we may issue a single entry visa after visa examination.
