The Japanese Cooking Course
2026/8/12
From July 20 to July 31, 2026, a joint cooking class was held by Ms. Yoko Morisaki, Tourism and Cooking Instructor at PCC, together with Embassy Chef Mr. Hisanori Katsuyama.
The cooking classes were held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the PCC Tourism & Hospitality School of Excellence. A total of 16 students participated.
Following their final class, a graduation ceremony was held on August 4, 2026, where students were awarded certificates of completion.
The event was held in part to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Palau Community College, from its beginnings as Mokko Totei Yoseijo to its present-day form as Palau Community College. It also aimed to introduce the local community to simple Japanese dishes that could be prepared at home, while helping participants better understand Japanese culture through food.
