Ambassador KASAHARA Pays a Courtesy Call on the Governor of Kagawa Prefecture

On July 1, 2026, Ambassador KASAHARA Kenichi visited Kagawa Prefecture, where he paid a courtesy call on Governor IKEDA Toyohito to exchange views on promoting closer ties between Kagawa and Palau.

Kagawa Prefecture has been becoming increasingly familiar to the people of Palau. At the Emperor's Birthday Reception hosted by the Embassy in February, a Sanuki udon demonstration and tasting by udon master invited from Kagawa Prefecture drew considerable acclaim from attendees.

During his visit, Ambassador Kasahara also visited the the Kagawa Olive Guyners, a local professional baseball team, to discuss potential sports exchange opportunities with Palau. He additionally experienced udon-making firsthand at the Nakano Udon School.
