Events to Commemorate the Commencement of the Regular Direct Flight Service between Narita and Koror

On October 29th, 2025, an inaugural flight from Narita to Koror departed. Prior to the departure, a commemoration ceremony was held at Narita airport. High ranking Japanese government officials including Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs and Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki attended the ceremony. Also, the ceremony was attended by visiting Palauan dignitaries such as H.E. President Surangel S. Whipps Jr. and Hon. Gustav Aitaro, Minister of State.
 
Upon arrival of the inaugural flight to Koror, welcoming ceremony was held at the airport in Palau. President Whipps came back to Palau by the flight and delivered remarks at the airport.  All the passengers of the flight were welcomed by music and dance and presented giveaways by Palau Visitor Authority staff.
 
On October 30th, the first flight from Koror to Narita departed. In the evening, CDA Ono attended the reception hosted by President Whipps to commemorate the start of regular direct flight service between Narita and Koror.
