Japan’s Traditional “Hina” Dolls on Display

Japan’s traditional “Hina” dolls are on display at the Embassy of Japan in celebration of “Hina Matsuri” (Girls’ Festival) on March 3^rd. The display is open to the public to view at the Embassy until March 14, Monday-Friday, 9am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:30pm.

Every year before March 3, a parent(s) will prepare the multi-tier doll set with their daughter(s). The doll exhibit represents the Emperor and the Empress, attendants and musicians wearing traditional court dresses of the Heian Period (794-1185).
