Ambassador Attends PICRC’s 24th fundraising gala dinner

On January 23, 2025, Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki attended PICRC’s 24th fundraising gala dinner. The funds aim for the protection of Marine ecosystem. President Surangel Whipps Jr. also attended this ceremony.
The Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) was established in 2001 with Japan's grant aid of about 800 million yen, as an organization focused on research and studies of Palau's coral reefs and surrounding marine areas, as well as promoting environmental conservation education. Since then, Japan has continuously provided various forms of support to Palau through JICA, making PICRC a symbolic organization of Japan’s assistance in the country. In 2026, the center will celebrate its 25th anniversary. Japan's leadership in this field is once again being called for.
