Chargés d'Affaires ad interim Attends Soft Opening of the Food Processing Center in Ngchesar

On December 8, 2023, Ms. HAGIWARA Mayu, Charge’ d’ Affaires ad interim, attended the soft opening ceremony of the Food Processing Center at the Bureau of Agriculture in Ngchesar. The center is a part of the grant project, funded by Japan, ADB and Ireland, which aims to address the needs of poor and vulnerable groups in Palau affected by the COVID-19. Fully-funded by Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific, the center will process taro, a traditional Palauan staple food mainly produced by women’s farming organizations, with the aim of increasing income of small-scale agricultural producers in Palau.
