Ambassador meets with Mie Prefectural Assembly Member

On November 18, 2023, Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki met with Mr. TAKAHASHI Chiaki, the former member of House of Councilors, and Mr. HIRO Koutarou, the Mie Prefectural Assembly member, exchanged views on efforts ahead of the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationships between Japan and Palau.
 
Palau and Mie Prefecture established friendship relations on July 25, 1996. The late Former President Kuniwo Nakamura, whose father was born in Ise City of Mie, made many visits to Mie and led the establishment of the friendly relations. Palau and Mie have expanded cooperation projects in environment, tourism, fisheries and culture since then.
