On July 26, 2023, upon the port call to Palau by the Japanese destroyer SHIRANUI, the members of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) led by Rear Admiral NISHIYAMA Takahiro, Commamder, Escort Flotilla One visited Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki and discussed the importance of realizing a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”
