Palauan Student Awarded Scholarship to Study in Japan
On March 16, 2023, Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki congratulated Mr. Lindon Kohama, who got accepted to pursue his Master’s course study in Japan under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) scholarship. Mr. Kohama will be studying international development at the Graduate School of International Development of Nagoya University.
The Japanese Government’s scholarship program became available to Palauan students in 1982. Since then a total of 61 Palauans, including the ones who are currently in Japan, have been awarded scholarship in the various programs.
Through the scholarship programs, Japan hopes to provide opportunities for Palauan students to receive higher education so that they can contribute to the development of their country in the future.
