On January 9, 2023, M/V "Kyowa Eagle", a brand new multi-purpose vessel operated by Kyowa Shipping, Co., Ltd., made her first call in Palau. Kyowa Shipping is the only Japanese shipping company who offers liner service to Palau, and their vessels have been serving as essential infrastructure to support the lives of people in Palau.
Completed in December 2022, the 12,740 gross ton cargo ship Kyowa Eagle is deployed on the Micronesian route (Busan - Kobe - Nagoya - Yokohama - Saipan - Guam - Palau - Micronesia - Marshall).
On the same day, Ambassador and Mrs. Orikasa visited the Kyowa Eagle berthed at Malakal port, and thanked the crew for supporting Palau's infrastructure.
