The Undergraduate Student Programs are for those who wish to study at a Japanese university. In general, the program lasts for five years including the one-year Japanese language program at a language school.

  For those majoring in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or a six-year course in pharmacy, the term of the scholarship is 7 years.
  (The first year is language training.)

Application Procedure

The Embassy of Japan will conduct First Screening. As for the details of First Screening, please refer to the outline below. (1) Submission of Application Form (Deadline: 4:30 pm on Friday, May 29, 2026)
(2) Placement Tests (Date: Wednesday, June 24, 2026)
(3) Interview (Date: Wednesday, July 08, 2026)
(4) Second Selection by MEXT (November 2026 to January, 2027)
(5) Decision of School by MEXT (January to February, 2027)
(6) Departure (April, 2027)
