State Minister for Foreign Affairs’ Visit to Palau

From Augst 29 to September 3, 2026, State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII Iwao visited Palau as the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy and attended the 55th Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Forum Dialogue with Partners. During the visit, he exchanged views with leaders and officials from Pacific Island countries and territories.

He also met with Japanese residents in Palau, JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers, and alumni of Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) scholarship, visited an ODA project showcase at the One Stop Shop under the ‘Allies Prosperity Exhibition’, and paid his respects at a memorial on Peleliu Island.
