Participation in the UNDP GEF SGP Informational Session on Grant Funding Opportunities for Community-Based Organizations

On August 6, 2026, the Embassy’s staff members participated in the “Informational Session on Grant Funding Opportunities for Community-Led Initiatives” organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF/SGP).

During the session, the Embassy introduced the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP), its own small grant project, and exchanged views with participants on the utilization of assistance programs and how to create a strong application. Participants actively engaged in the discussion and raised questions, making it a valuable opportunity to enhance understanding of Japan’s grassroots-level support initiatives.

The Embassy will continue to strengthen partnerships with local organizations and further promote grassroots cooperation in support of sustainable development in local communities.
