5th Steering Committee for the IOM Project “Enhancing Border Management Capacity Through the Introduction of an E-Passport for the Republic of Palau”

On June 9, 2026, Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. ONO Shunsuke attended the 5th Steering Committee for the “Enhancing Border Management Capacity Through the Introduction of an E-Passport for the Republic of Palau” led by IOM and funded by the Government of Japan.

At the meeting, INCERT, a Luxcemberg-based institution spearheading the technical assessment for the introduction of e-passports, led a fruitful discussion on the institutional operational models for IC passport implementation. All parties exchanged valuable insights aimed at ensuring a smooth and effective transition to the new passport system.
