GGP Follow-up Visit to Ngaraard Elementary School

On March 4th, 2026, the GGP Coordinator of the Embassy of Japan met with Ms. Daisy Ulitch , the principal of Ngaraard elementary school, and Mr. Hosea Swei, the school bus driver, and Mr. Barren Mobel, the school driver, at Ngaraard elementary school. The visit conducted was the follow-up for “The project for School Bus Procurement for Ngaraard Elementary School.
 
Through the Government of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), Ngaraard elementary school received two new 15-seater buses on March 3, 2016, with a total grant of USD 88,894.

Even after 10 years, the buses continue to play an active role not only in safety transporting the school’s 43 students, but also in supporting extracurricular activities. The buses are expected to continue contributing to safe and secure school life.

Japan’s GGP was launched in Palau in 1999 to address grassroots development needs, including education, healthcare, and community welfare. This project marks the 62nd of the 105 GGP projects implemented in Palau.
