Ambassador Visits the New Airai Sub-Station

On January 26, 2026, Ambassador KASAHARA Kenichi joined the Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) to celebrate the completion of the new Airai sub-station. The facility is part of the Project for the Development of Power Transmission Network, a USD $17 million grant aid initiative funded by the Government and people of Japan.
 
Implementation was carried out in collaboration with PPUC, TOENEC, Aichi Electric, and Yachiyo Engineering, whose technical expertise supported major upgrades essential to enhancing grid stability and ensuring reliable electricity for communities in Airai and surrounding areas.
 
The completion of the Airai sub-station marks the final phase of this initiative and represents a significant advancement in strengthening Palau’s power transmission system, improving its capacity to deliver stable and reliable electricity for both current and future needs.
