Memorial Ceremony at the Monument for the War Dead of the Western Pacific in Peleliu

On December 7, 2025, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two, the Embssy held a memorial ceremony at the Monument for the War Dead of the Western Pacific in Peleliu to honor the fallen Japanese soldiers. During the ceremony, Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki and bereaved family members visiting from Japan offered flowers, and a grandchild of one of the war dead performed a memorial song, providing an opportunity to once again reflect on the preciousness of peace.
