Attending Introductory Workshop for ICAO TRIP Strategy (IOM)

On November 24^th, our Embassy staff attended the ‘ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) TRIP (Traveler Identification Programme) Strategy Workshop’ hosted by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

During the workshop, the TRIP Strategy’s five pillars and related systems were introduced by Ms. Laura Scorreti, Senior regional Immigration and Border Governance Specialist from IOM Regional Office for Asia & the Pacific. This workshop was held to ensure that e-passports scheduled to be introduced under the “Enhancing Border Management Capacity Through the Introduction of an E-Passport for the Republic of Palau” are issued and managed based on ICAO identity verification standards.

Participants shared insights and discussed challenges and compatibility with current passport management system with the TRIP Strategy.
