Attending National Workshop for UNDP Tsunami Project

On November 18^th, our Embassy staff attended ‘National workshop for Palau Schools Supporting the Mainstreaming of Tsunami and Disaster Preparedness into National Policies’ held by UNDP.

The workshop was attended by Ministry of Education, National Emergency Management Office (NEMO), school principles and other partnership organizations. During the workshop, attendees reviewed their disaster response plans based on tsunami damage demonstration and good practices around the region.

This workshop was held under the ‘Partnerships for Strengthening School Preparedness for Tsunami in the Asia-Pacific’, funded by Japan since 2017. The project aims to promote evacuation drills and early warning system in schools and communities across the region.
