Ambassador ORIKASA meets with Minister of State and Postmaster General to finalize plans for 2026 commemorative stamp design

In connection with the launch of direct Narita–Palau flights in late October, President Surangel S. Whipps Jr. proposed issuing a commemorative stamp to mark the 32nd Palau Independence Day on October 1, 2026, and strengthen Japan–Palau relations. On November 7, Ambassador Orikasa met with Hon. Gustav Aitaro, Minister of State, and Mr. Santy Asanuma, Postmaster General, to follow up on the proposal. The stamp will feature a design from the animated movie, Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise, to be released across Japan on December 5, 2025.
