This year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two. On September 29th, Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki gave a briefing on the situation in Palau to 24 people who were visiting the embassy on the occasion of the Sankei Shimbun's, “80th Anniversary of the End of the War and the 31st Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations.”
With the support and cooperation of the Palauan government and people, the collection of remains, memorial services, and unexploded ordnance disposal projects have been continuously carried out. In relation to these activities, the embassy has been actively working to strengthen the friendship between Japan and Palau by offering briefings and responding to local requests and needs.
