Deputy Chief of Mission ONO attends Handover Ceremony of New Route Buses

On September 29, 2025, Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. ONO Shunsuke attended the handover ceremony of two new buses and EVs for the Project for Establishing an Eco-Friendly Transportation System. The event also showcased the achievements of the eco-friendly transportation project to date and presented an overview of the Master Plan for Palau’s public transport.
 
This JICA project aims to provide reliable, affordable, and environmentally friendly public transportation options. Public transit benefits the community by offering a cost-effective alternative to cars, contributing to environmental sustainability.
 
The event was attended by Hon. Ngiraibelas Tmetuchl, Minister of MHRCTD, Mr. AOKI Tsunenori, Chief Representative of the JICA Palau Office, H.E. Toby Sharpe, Ambassador of Australia to Palau, Hon. Henaro Polloi, Governor of Melekeok State and Chairman of the Governors’ Association, Mr. Kadoi Ruluked, Managing Director of the Palau Visitors Authority, Mr. Elangel Yanni Mesubed, Director of the Bureau of Tourism, as well as representatives from NGOs, development partners, and other key government officials.
