Farewell to Japan’s Coast Guard Advisor

On March 24, 2025, Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki met with Lt. Com. HOSODA Akinori and Lt. Com. ITO Hiroki, both from the Japan Association of Marine Safety, as Lt. Com. Hosoda concludes his duties in Palau and is to be replaced by Lt. Com. Ito. Lt. Com. Hosoda has been working with Palau Marine Law for two years since March 2023 as a coast guard advisor from the Japan Coast Guard with support from the Nippon Foundation. Ambassador Orikasa bade farewell to Lt. Com. Mr. Hosoda and welcomed Lt. Com. Ito. They also exchanged views on the current situation in the maritime security in this region.
