Congratulatory Message from Japan on the occasion of Presidential Inauguration Ceremony

On the occasion of Presidential Inauguration Ceremony, His Majesty the Emperor of Japan extended his congratulatory message. Also, Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan sent the following message.
On behalf of the Government and the people of Japan, I would like to once again express my sincere congratulations on Your Excellency’s inauguration for a second term as President of the Republic of Palau.
I deeply appreciate Your Excellency’s exceptional commitment to the relationship with Japan over the past four years and Your Excellency’s efforts to strengthen “tokubetsu” relationship with Japan including the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Palau diplomatic relations last year. I am convinced that Your Excellency’s experienced leadership will guide Palau to even greater heights in your second term, and that Palau will continue to prosper under your stewardship. I am also expecting to see our “kizuna,” fostered over many years of exchanges, further enhanced.
Japan will continue to promote cooperation with Palau in various areas aligned with “2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent” and to work for the development of the relations between Japan and Palau through bilateral efforts and the Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM).
I am determined to work closely with Your Excellency to maintain peace and stability of the region and look forward to having the opportunity to exchange views with Your Excellency in the near future.
