Independence Day Dinner Reception

On September 30, 2024, Special Envoy of the Prime Minister TAKATA Toshihisa and Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki attended the Independence Day Dinner Reception. Government dignitaries from both Palau and other countries gathered and dined together. In addition, Ms. HANAOKA Hisako, singer formerly belonged to Shiki Theatre Company, and Mr. SANO Masayuki, Shiki musical actor, performed songs, including “Kokoro no Hitomi” of Mr. SAKAMOTO Kyu. The songs were performed toward the enduring Japan-Palau relationship and dedicated to a grandfather of Ms. HANAOKA, who had died in the past war in Palau.
