Ambassador Meets with The Member of Kyoshingumi Co.Ltd and Dean Professor Kagoshima University

On September 30th,2024, Ambassador Orikasa meets with KUROKI Takeshi Acting General Manager from Kyoshingumi Co.Ltd., and Dean Prof. NISHI Ryuichiro, Faculty Fisheries, Kagoshima University.
 
Every year, a training ship from Kagoshima University visits Palau for exchanges, and Dean Nishi Ryuichiro exchanged views on further educational exchanges between Kagoshima University and the Republic of Palau. KUROKI Takeshi Acting General Manager from Kyoshingumi Co.Ltd exchanged views on the current state of exchanges with the people of "Harao" (Note 1) on Tanegashima, as the maritime police boat "KEDAM" had been maintained and called at a port in Kagoshima Prefecture. Note 1: At the end of the war, Japanese people living around the Ngardok River in Melekeok State, Palau, evacuated to Tanegashima and named it "Harao".
