On September 11, 2024, SHIMADA Shinya, Deputy Director-General for International Digital Infrastructure Promotion, Global Strategy Bureau of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan, met with Ambassador Orikasa to exchange views on enhancing digital infrastructure in Palau. The discussion focused on issues around human resource and capacity development, as well as potential community outreach initiatives to better prepare younger generations for future success. The event was also attended by Director Jay Hunter Anson of the Ministry of Finance’s Digital Residency Office and Chief Symone Esichang Ubedei from the Ministry of State’s Foreign Affairs & Trade, Asia Pacific Division.
