Ambassador Orikasa Meets with JMAS Director Shimada

On September 9, 2024, Japan Mine Action Service (JMAS) Director Mr. SHIMADA Masato and Palau Representative Mr. TAKE Yoichi met with Ambassador Orikasa to discuss their ongoing activities in the clearance of WWII ordnance in Palau. Established in 2002, JMAS is a Japanese NGO specializing in demining and unexploded ordinance disposal, and has been working in the waters around Palau since 2012. JMAS’ efforts significantly promote a healthier marine environment in Palau and enhances the safety of its people.
