Ambassador Orikasa Witnesses a Framework Agreement Signing between Tokyo Electric Power Company and Palau

On August 13, 2024, Ambassaodr ORIKASA Hiroyuki attended the signing ceremony of a framework agreement on technical cooperation between four parties: Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. (TEPCO); the Ministry of Finance; the Ministry of Public Infrastrucutre and Industries; and the Palau Public Utilities Company.
Mr KOBAYAKAWA Tomoaki, President of TEPCO, visited Palau specifically for the signing of the Framework Agreement, which aims to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between the four parties and enable synergies aimed at creating carbon neutral societies in both countries, to help Palau achieve a carbon neutral society by 2032.
The signing, witnessed by President Surangel Whipps Jr. and Ambassador Orikasa, will form the basis of cooperation between the four parties. Among many areas of cooperation, experts from TEPCO will be dispatched to help develop a sustainable energy industry in Palau, which will enhance the capacity to manage the power grid.
