The National Institute of Technology (KOSEN) Programs are for those who are interested in technology and engineering. They will complete a one year prepatory course before joining the program as a third year student. This program is generally 4 years (or 4 1/2 years for maritime engineering) this includes the one year prepatory course.

*Applicants who combine (H) and (D) as their choice of fields of study must take the Chemistry exam.
*Applicants who combine (H) and the fields of study other than (D) as their choice of fields of study must undertake Physics.
*Applicants who choose (H) can designate either Chemistry or Physics as their preference. Please specify which subject you will undertake on your application form.

Applicaton Procedure

Outlines
The Embassy of Japan will conduct First Screening. As for the details of First Screening, please refer to the outline below. (1) Submission of Application Form (Deadline: 4:30 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025)
(2) Placement Tests (Date: Wednesday, June 25, 2025)
(3) Interview (Date: Wednesday, July 11, 2025)
(4) Second Selection by MEXT (November, 2025)
(5) Decision of School by MEXT (January to February, 2026)
(6) Departure (April, 2026)
