Earth Day Tree Planting event and visit to the National Landfill

On April 22, 2024, Ambassador ORIKASA Hiroyuki joined H.E. Surangel S. Whipps, Jr., President of the Republic of Palau, representatives of the Palau Government, Traditional Leaders, staffs and board members of Palau Conservation Society, members of 2024 Earth Day Committee at a tree planting event at Ngerikiil Watershed for reforestation and erosion control at Mengungau el ked, Airai State.
 
On the same day, Ambassador Orikasa also joined the site visit to the National Landfill at Aimeliik State with H.E. President Surangel S. Whipps Jr., Minister of State Hon. Gustav Aitaro, Minister of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism and Development Hon. Ngiraibelas Tmetuchl and other participants involved in the Earth Day committee. The National Landfill is a grant aid project funded by the Government of Japan.
