Study Tour of JASDF Aircraft for Students of Airai Elementary School

On February 14, 1st Tactical Airlift Wing, Koku-Jieitai(Japan Air Self-Defense Force), invited 44 Airai Elementary School students, H.E. ORIKASA Hiroyuki, Ambassador of Japan, Honorable Norman Ngiratechboet, Governor of Airai State, Airai Elementary Principal, Ms. Norma Mersai, teachers and staff of Airai Elementary School to a study tour of its C-130 transport aircraft at Roman Tmetuchl International Airport (Palau International Airport), as part of Cope North 23, Japan-U.S.-Australia Joint exercise.
This event was held with the support of the Government of Palau and the Embassy of Japan in Palau in order to further deepen the relationship of trust between the two countries by providing the people of Palau with a deeper understanding of Koku-Jieitai initiatives in the Pacific island countries.
Based on the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) vision, the Koku-Jieitai, in cooperation with allies and like-minded countries, is making efforts to enhance its capabilities to carry out various missions in the Pacific islands in order to contribute to peace and stability of the Pacific island countries. The government and people of Palau, who share universal values with Japan, have consistently given us their warm understanding and support for these Koku-Jieitai initiatives.
The Koku-Jieitai will continue to work with the people of Palau and other Pacific island countries sharing universal values such as freedom, democracy, fundamental human rights, and the rule of law to uphold and reinforce the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) so as to ensure peace and stability of the international community.
