Ambassador Orikasa Visited Koror State Government Recycle Center

On January 18, 2023, Ambassador and Mrs. Orikasa visited the Koror State Government Recycling Center operated by the Soild Waste Management Office. The center houses the Belau Eco Glass Center, a glass studio supported through the JICA Grassroots Technical Cooperation Project "Belau Eco Glass Studio (Glass studio recycles used glass bottles) business development track Project". The glass crafts produced at the center are one of the new specialties of Palau, which aims for tourism in harmony with the environment. At the Japan-Palau summit meeting in September 2022, President Whipps gifted the center's glass craft to Prime Minister Kishida. At the Center, Ambassador Orikasa met with Governor of Koror State Hon. Eyos Rudimch, Koror State Government Consultant Mr. Katsuo Fuji and other staff to exchange views on sustainable waste management and tourism development in Palau.
