Announcement from Animal Quarantine Service and Plant Protection Station of the Government of Japan

Bringing meat products, plants or fruit from overseas countries including Palau into Japan is strictly restricted in accordance with biosecurity laws in Japan. In case of bringing such products illegally, persons shall be punished with serious penalty including imprisonment for a term of up to 3 years or a fine of up to 3 million JPY(27,800USD) for personal case and up to 50 million JPY(463,000USD) for business cases. Illegal import might be notified to police office and result in arrestment.
 
The Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Palau recommend travelers to Japan to check biosecurity rules of Japan before they flight to Japan. Please do not bring meat products, plants or fruit from overseas countries including Palau into Japan. For more details, please find the links below.
