◆What is GGP?

Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) is a small-scale assistance scheme offered by the Government of Japan. It was established to assit NGOs and local public authorities in developing countries in responding to various development needs in a prompt and complete matter.
The Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Palau has been supporting diverse projects through GGP since 1999. 59 projects has been funded and implemented through GGP (as of January, 2016). The focus areas in Palau are Primary Education, Primary Health Care and Environment. Focusing on these three fields, GGP has funded schools and hospitals as well as state governments and other non-profit organizations.
◆Eligible Recipients
GGP targets non-profit organization that implements development projects at grass-roots level. The requirement is to be a registered non-profit organization in Palau that has been active for more than two years. The followings are examples of potential recipients: International or local NGOs, state governments, hospitals, schools and other non-profit organizations.

Focus areas in Palau are as follows:

◆How to Apply
If your organization satisfies these conditions, please submit an Application Formto the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Palau. The application form must be attached with the following documents:
- • A detailed budget for the project
- • A map showing the project site
- • A feasibility study for the project
- • Estimates for the goods and services that will be purchased by the grant from three different suppliers
- • A brochure and a copy of the regulations of the organization
- • Annual budget of the organization
