Scholarship Program
◆Research Students(Postgraduate Course) for 2015
The Government of Japan offers full scholarship covering tuition, fees and allowance to Palauan citizens for study at Japanese Universities as Research (Postgraduate) Students.
1. Requirements
(1) | Age: | Applicants must be born on or after April 2, 1980. |
---|---|---|
(2) | Academic Background: | University graduates including those who will graduate by March 2015. |
(3) | Must do research in the same or related field of study that applicant majored in during his/her study at a University, and is available in Japan. |
NOTE: Applicants must be willing to study the Japanese Language and to receive instructions in Japanese.
2. Term of Scholarship
Two years, from April 2015 to March 2017 or 1 year and 6 months from October 2015 to March 2017 for non-degree research program. For Master’s and Doctorate programs, term of scholarship will be until completion of degree program.
3. Education In Japan
(1) A grantee will be initially enrolled in a Japanese language training institution and will be given a six months course in Japanese language.
(2) A grantee that has completed the prescribed course at the Japanese language training institution will go on to a university and do research in their chosen field of study under the instruction of a professor.
(3) A grantee that wishes to enroll in a Master’s or Doctorate program may discuss with his/her professor at the early stage of his/her stay in Japan. It may be possible to enroll in the said program with extension of the scholarship duration depending on the grantee’s performance and the budget for the scholarship.
4. Application Procedure
Please read Application Guideline carefully before apply.Application forms can be obtained through the links below, at the Embassy of Japan in Koror. Interested applicants are advised to contact the Embassy at 488-6455 for consultation. Application deadline is Friday June 20, 2014. (The post must arrive by June 20, 2014)
5. Tests
All applicants are required to take the tests on Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Embassy of Japan in Palau.
