◆JICA Volunteers in Palau
Palau has enjoyed the cooperation from the JICA volunteers for more than a decade. To date, 149 Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) and 48 Senior Volunteers have been dispatched to Palau since 1997.
Currently (as of October 1st, 2012), there are 12 volunteers working in Palau; 8 JOCV and 4 Senior Volunteers. They are dispatched based on the needs in Palau through the request of the National Government. They all have specific technical skills to contribute to the development of Palau. Below are the specialized areas of the currently active volunteers:
